Meet the Doctors

All of us here at Atlantic Chiropractic and Wellness Center would like to welcome you to our office.  We are excited to have you as part of our practice and would like to thank you for the opportunity to assist you in achieving and maintaining optimal health.  We are dedicated to providing you and all of our patients with the best possible care available.  Below is more information to better acquaint you with our practice.  Our goal is to help you come to full circle from sickness to health.

Drs. Philip Afghani and Melissa Ferranti are Chiropractors who focus on restoring the body to health naturally, by creating balance in the spine and nervous system. They educate the community on the importance of a wellness lifestyle, which includes a balanced nervous system, proper diet and exercise, and a healthy mental attitude. Their mission is to educate and empower as many people as possible to experience their optimal health potential. They speak regularly to local schools, businesses, and organizations on health, wellness, and safety topics.

Dr. Afghani was born and raised in the Port Orange area, and has been involved in many levels of community service and civic activities.  He graduated from Atlantic High School, and went on to earn his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from the University of North Florida in Jacksonville, Florida, where he was a founding member of the Deadbirds Rugby Football Club.  Dr. Afghani even tried his hand at Professional Rugby for a few seasons. He holds a Doctorate of Chiropractic Medicine from Palmer College of Chiropractic, Florida Campus.  Dr. Afghani also consults for some of the top nutrition companies in the country, regarding optimal nutrition for better patient care, balanced health, and sickness and disease prevention.  Dr. Afghani is the Clinic Director of Atlantic Chiropractic and Wellness Center in Port Orange, and is also currently working as a Faculty Clinician in the Palmer College of Chiropractic, Florida Campus Clinic.  He is a Certified Chiropractic Extremity Practitioner, Certified Kinesio Tape Practitioner, and has done extensive Post-Graduate training in nutrition, electrodiagnosis, rehabilitation, and sports medicine.  Dr. Afghani understands the limitless potential that each individual – when properly aligned to their values, goals, and spine – has to achieve optimal health.  

Dr. Ferranti was also born and raised in the Port Orange area, and has been involved in many local and national community service projects.  She graduated from Atlantic High School, and went on to earn her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from University of North Florida in Jacksonville, Florida.  She graduated from Palmer College of Chiropractic in Port Orange, Florida where she received her Doctorate in Chiropractic Medicine.  Dr. Ferranti is also a Fellow of the International Academy of Medical Acupuncture, and offers acupuncture care for acute and chronic pain, organ dysfunction, weight loss, smoking cessation, and a host of other health related topics.  She is also currently a Faculty Clinician at the Palmer College of Chiropractic, Florida Campus Clinic, helping to educate future Chiropractors.  Dr. Ferranti expresses a passion for health daily, and is committed to providing patients with the most effective means of natural healing.


Dr. Ferranti and Dr. Afghani were high school sweethearts and are now married with two beautiful daughters Isabella and Callie.  They enjoy spending time with their family, as well as hiking, camping, scuba diving, and travelling.
